Mathias,

Your memory is right on - we did, indeed, sign an open letter.  In addition, I believe that we might have even succeeded in changing the next version of the ATLS bible to reflect that fact.

This has been discussed here ad nauseam. Didn't we even sign an open 
letter several years ago to stop this nonsense?
