For many trauma services pediatric trauma patients are aced in the adult ICU. Furthermore , everyone should recall that there is not a quality difference between a Level III and a Level I trauma center Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T -----Original Message----- From: "Dan Burgess" <dburgess at mhg.com> Date: Fri, 04 Apr 2008 15:03:42 To:traumanurses at listserve.com, "Trauma & Critical Care mailing list" <trauma-list at trauma.org> Subject: Pediatric transfers Appreciate any help in defining transfer criteria for pediatric patients to a trauma center. As a level III trauma center without a Pediatric ICU or Pediatric intensivists we need to define criteria for who we keep and who we send. The nearest Level I is approx 1 hr away by ground. Would appreciate anyone who would be able to share their criteria.
