Hi! I know that Foley's catheter balloon tamponade is used in certain patients to arrest haemorrhage from penetrating neck injuries and have used this technique successfully on a few occasions. see World J Surg. 2006 Jul;30(7):1265-8 Navsaria P, Thoma M, Nicol A. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16830215 Assited a colleague with a patient a few nights ago with a infraclavicular stab wound shooting out arterial blood and tried this technique. Seemed to have worked Just wanted to find out any other experiences with the Foley's catheter in other sites besides the neck?
