Dear Dr. Kalkum, thanks for the response. The issue is that the hypertonic saline is being used as a maintenance fluid, when the resuscitation phase is over, let us say, on the 10th post-trauma day, not on the first. The patients are not hemodynamically unstable. Is that appropriate?
