R: urban legend vs science - 2nd try...no takers?

If it did not cause you any burn then it didn't work like electrocautery,
live muscle jumps when touched but not when it is dead.

Don't know about electrocautery, but around march I volunteered to be hooked
up to an electrotherapy device for a demonstration, at 5ma (considered the
highest safe setting on the model) I didn't feel it and there was no motor
response in my dominant hand to the "pulse," Except for my normally poor
typing skill, I conclude I have no neuro-muscular deficets. I am certainly
not dead. :)

I just watched a debreedment of muscle that to me looked extremely
healthy. It was 5d after a crush injury, the muscle still looked nice
and pink but it did not jump when touched with the electrocautery. Is
there any science here or is it a legend that if it doesnt jump it is
dead.
