ya know, I almost posted that, but feared the ridicule/repercussions of the list. Pavarotti inspired many to hold concerts for "The War Child" and sang with rock icons and lesser known Euro-rockers to accomplish this aid for Guatemala, Kosovo and Liberia, among others. He also has the voice of God: just listen to "O Holy Night"-- whether it is Christmas or not, whether you are Christian or not. His "3 Tenors" brilliantly brought opera to the middle class and broadened appreciation of fine art singing. "Music hath charms to soothe a savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak."
