Of COURSE, I know that and have know that such claims have been made for  
DECADES.  AND I FIND THEM TO BE INCREADIBLY INACCURATE compared to other  methods 
of determining ejection fraction, cardiac output, etc. etc. etc.  etc.      
You forget that first I am a cardiac surgeon,  with probably more cardiac 
surgery under my belt than trauma  surgery.    I have interacted with cardiologist, 
invasive and non  invastive since 1965 and have watched and learned from the  
anesthesiologists.     I tried and tried to find a use for  the TEE and TTE 
in trauma.   We really did.    I find  that some cardiologist are very good 
with echo, but most over read tremendously  and when they do a real cardiac 
output compared to TEE cardiac output that is  where the randomization of the 
random number generators really happens.
