If you have a r/o  MI protocol and place to do it, that's fine. If there are
no available  beds, that's another (big) problem.

I was on duty in the ED as well as being a staff physician with an  
independent practice...and the family was pissed with the attending who didn't  want 
her admitted...not that they changed to me in the end...
 
and I carefully referred her back to him in the morning when I sent her  home.
