Given the mechanism and the outcome, I think it's fair to put the odds of coagulopathy at within one or two points of 100%. Which is what makes the OR interval hard to believe. Its interesting to discuss the matter, but the bottom line was, we were not there. It could have been too much fluid pre hospital, or somewhere else. Or, it may have been something that was totally unavoidable. Interesting to see what other details emerge from this case. Anyone else have any suggestions as to what might have happened?
