Don't get me wrong -- I didn't say all Christians (or Jews for that matter, since I are one) are fascists. I said that if/when fascism comes to America it will be CLOAKED in nationalism and right-wing religious thought. And since this is CLEARLY off topic, I'd be happy to discuss it further in private. Jane -----Original Message----- From: trauma-list-bounces at trauma.org on behalf of Joe Nemeth Sent: Sat 11/17/2007 7:58 AM To: trauma-list at trauma.org Cc: Subject: (no subject) Dr. Harper's off the cuff (I hope) statement plastered with negative connotation regarding anyone with the Chutzpah to admit to Christian principles is quite annoying, not only because it paints a picture with a rather large brush but also because it is starting to be a favorite American hobby... everything it seems like in the US...?world...is due to the Christian conservative right... Although I agree that there are some who use those fundamental Judeo-Christian principles to abuse and usurp authority over others...this is clearly wrong however if it weren't for those fundamental Judeo-Christian principles we as a society would be much further down the line towards anarchy then we now are...anyone not seeing this needs a lesson from the ostrich (head out of the sand) Joe McGill University Montreal The scariest part, to me, about Mike's scenario is the vision of soup lines and burning mark notes ... we know what happened in Germany after THAT. Don't tell yourself it couldn't happen in the US. The difference is that when fascism comes to America, wrapped in the American flag and carrying a cross and a Bible, it will be armed with nukes and biological weapons. And then, earning Euros won't protect you from the raining death. ---------------------- Jane Harper, PhD(c), RN, ACNP, CCNS, CCRN Trauma Advanced Practice Nurse OSF St. Anthony Medical Center Rockford, IL -- trauma-list : TRAUMA.ORG To change your settings or unsubscribe visit: http://www.trauma.org/index.php?/community/ ============================================================================== The information in this message is confidential and may be legally privileged.
