If that is the case, I would suggest that you have a problem with staff education and facility with using the equipment, and not the inadequacy of the equipment.......

Uuhm, that was the "...more than anything needs to get to the elevator to OR instead" part.
Here, it would take the staff at least thrice the time to hook up the Level 1 as it would us to run up to OR with someone pushing blood manually.

Johan - you need to get the patient to the OR, and one without any BP is
not going to survive the trip!

We have one in the trauma bay but I think it was bought just because
the head of the ER thought it was cool... (He's from Internal Medicine).
I personally would never use it in the ER, a pat who needs that level of
massive transfusion more than anything needs to get to the elevator to
OR instead. We also have one in OR which is occasionally used. When used
though, it gives enough pressure to wash your car.
