Intraosseous Access

There are very few indications indeed for any form of IO access. As I see
it:-

1)     Traditional IO is out;

2) BIG and FAST 1 have a role (where required) but these are in fact
very few and far between;

3) These indications are access for analgesia and relevant medication
(it COULD include fluids if required e.g. for a very severe head injury to
maintain MAP) but, as I mentioned before, things have to be EXTREMELY bad
for me to give ANY fluid indeed (and even then it is only a 50-100ml bolus
of hypertonic saline titrated.)
