IO's?...good for?

WE just had a 13month old trauma developed compartment syndrome from an IO 
that infiltrated.  Almost lost the foot. It turned very very dusky and lost 
pulses, I had to do bedside fasciotomies as the severe head inj made the baby to 
unstable to transfer to the OR.  luckily it saved the foot.  Muscles and soft 
tissue immediately bulged and the foot really pinked up and regained pulses
