If you are able to read this, it is obvious that you are not in London at
the Third Annual meeting of the LONDON TRAUMA CONFERENCE - 2007. You should
have been at this conference !!!

Congratulations to Dr. Karim Brohi and the members of the organizing
committee for putting on, or participating in THREE conferences running back to back
to back. First was a special focused group on a special area of mass
casualty and disaster, Second is the London Trauma Conference, and Third is a
tandem meeting of "1st Annual London Trauma Nursing Conference" and a "Torso
Trauma Masterclass." I guess that makes FOUR conferences.

Yes, as a knowledgeable person on _Trauma-list at trauma.org_
(mailto:Trauma-list at trauma.org) you should be here. A sizable group is here participating in
the many lectures and discussions. A great hunger and leadership for
trauma, acute care surgery, emergency medicine, resuscitation, transportation
exist in UK and throughout Europe and the Middle East. These conferences are
satisfying that need. It is my prediction that this conference will become
the leading trauma conference in Europe/Middle East/North Africa. Already
more than 15 countries other than England have attendees.

Many pharmaceutical, device, EMS, publishing, recruiting, and other
companies have missed the opportunity to meet the decision makers of their respective
hospitals. There is a good group of exhibitors, but it is also obvious
that others have missed a wonderful chance.

I am impressed with the STRONG movement towards an integrated trauma system
in both UK and in Europe. Of course there are political struggles, but
those are being overcome.

They are addressing:

Quality Care
Standards of Trauma Practice
Categories of Trauma Center
Verification of commitment and resources
Certification by an appropriate agency
Trauma registry
Peer Review
Research
Education
Curriculum development

and many more........

I STRONGLY recommend that readers of this message contact Dr. Brohi to
determine the date for next years meeting. This will become THE PLACE to
network as it relates to European Trauma Care. New horizons and standards are
emerging quickly. This train is leaving the station. Do not let it leave
without you being on board.

Congratulations for a great contribution to Continuing Medical Education in
Europe.
