I apologise for sending such a blanket email, but I have to do it once. If
you have no idea who I am, please send me an email simply saying "REMOVE"
and delete this mail without guilt - you've crept into my address book
somehow.

Ross:

I'll be very interested to hear your tales and travails...while more
armchair than anything else right now, I find that I learn from such things.

Do you also belong to the Wilderness Medical Society http://www.trauma.org/index.php/community/list/url/http:list.ftech.net/pipermail/trauma-list/2007-July/_http://www.wms.org/_
(http://www.wms.org/) ?

I'm sure that they'd love to get correspondence on this matter.

And despite the SatComs you will have available to you, do you have an
Amateur Radio license? I suspect that the Medical Amateur Radio Council would also
be interested in the situation...both as a source of back up communications
as well as some interesting rag chews over the course of a long Antarctic
winter...

and if you ever end up here in the States, specifically anywhere between
Little Rock, St Louis and Kansas City, I suspect that I know some folks who
would be interested in hearing about your adventure...it would be worth a decent
meal, none of that 'rubber chicken' that speakers have to put up with so
often.
