" Fascist." But NOT a Nazi - as one on this list has implied! ;-) And yes, I am still smiling, 'cause as bad as everyone says life is, it sure beats the alternative! "Ron" >>> "p.bjorn at netzero.net" <p.bjorn at netzero.net> 7/3/2007 10:21 AM >>> "So, I would then ask, how come Moore didn't ask the last 17 trauma patients that I have seen in my last 36 hrs in the hospital that we have cared for with the best of everything, where their insurance was? I didn't ask, Pret, Soleto, and you wouldn't - and we now know that Bromberg doesn't..." Trust me, there are people in your hospital who will be asking, and cross-checking, and credit-investigating. And there will be insurance companies refusing and delaying and not responding. Just because we can't see it or aren't to blame, doesn't mean there isn't a problem worth filming. "...But Moore would. Do you think that Moore would let people in to see HIS movie for free? Do you think he would restrict the release of his movie to only those theaters that let people in for free? I doubt it. Even Bjorn won't pay the $10 to see the movie in a theater - he's gonna rent the DVD. Probably can't afford to go to the movies 'cause he has to pay for his health insurance!..." I balk on the theatre (especially for documentaries and position pieces) 'cause I can't pause it to pee or review the confusing parts or turn on the subtitles (whatever has happened to sound editing in modern cinema?). And successful as he is, I'd bet that Michael Moore STILL makes a lot less than your average insurance executive. Plus, he doesn't make you show up four times before you get to see his movie, or insist that you aren't qualified to see it. And with movies, as opposed to healthcare, the consequences of not going are vastly more forgiving. "...Sorry Pret, I had to poke fun at SOMEONE today - I too am in a similar every other night on call for a week mood, much like Bromberg. I am amazed at how seriously we take ourselves sometimes..." I exist to serve, even if only as a target of ridicule. And I rarely take either of us seriously. No hard feelings. Fascist. "...Ron" Kidding. I'm a kidder.
