dr Mattox. Well, i will not argue with the surgery because i think your team is the only one who is actually seen the patient. But i want to ask you why you didnt leave any way to feed him enteral way? Abut the chest tubes if they dont drain anything i would take them out after the patient is eating. I have tried metilen blue swallow and if there is still a hole you can see them in the chest tubes, so you dont need to do an espophagus swallow in the early days. If you have a neg test with the food , you can take the chest tubes right away.
