I will be out of the office until August 15th... Just kidding. Glitches like this remind us how well the system functions almost all of the time. Thanks for all of the hard work behind the scenes, Karim and Sue and Phil and everyone. Pret Bjorn, RN Bangor, ME USA -----Original Message----- From: trauma-list-bounces at trauma.org [mailto:trauma-list-bounces at trauma.org] On Behalf Of Karim Brohi Sent: Monday, January 15, 2007 4:47 AM To: Trauma &, Critical Care mailing list Subject: Re: BIG MISTAKE TERRY Apologies to all for the extended period of mail-looping this weekend. We haven't had one of these for about 4 years now (it was almost nostalgic) - and our new list software has been filtering these out very well - until now! Terry must have had an extra-powererful autoresponder to get through. Thanks again to Sue for picking this up. Both Phil and Sue are invaluable in monitoring the list across the global time zones we work across. As usual we had a spate of unsubscriptions in attempts to reduce the deluge, and I have emailed all these people to tell them that all is fixed and they can safely resubscribe if they wish to. These events are destructive to the list however and I would remind people that autoresponders are a bad thing for mailing-lists in general, (as are read confirmation emails) and if you have to put it on for work then please change your trauma-list settings to 'No Mail' while you are away. Meanwhile, Terry Valentine joins the select and infamous ranks of people who have brought the trauma-list to a standstill. or as Ian Civil pointed out, Terry has done a 'Michael Muller'. Thanks for all your patience with this. I will see if there is anything else we can do to avoid this in the future.
