Ken It is absolutely not a standard of care to use antiplatelet therapy with IVC filters. There are some vascular conditions that require placement of a filter for patients experiencing recurrent PEs despite anticoagulation and these patients will remain on anticoagulation to reduce the long-term risk of filter occlusion. But these patients would be given a Coumarin. not an antiplatelet agent.
