I would not have had this discussion if it hadn't been started already. I'm just merely defending our LORD God who created us and give's us life abundantly. I will quickly answer my critics and then if you want to continue this conversation please email me privately and not on this group server. Yes Jesus was sacrificed because God loved us and wants us eternally, but more importantly so we don't burn in Hell for eternity. On Johns comments: "IF God is omnipotent then WHY was Jesus' blood sacrifice required to assuage mankind's sins? Why couldn't God just simply forgive us? Alternatively - if a blood sacrifice WAS required to cleanse our sins, then either God is not omnipotent or he's a blood thirsty tyrant." Jesus was brought onto the earth to not only shed His blood but also to show the love that God has for us, and to give us the chance at eternal life, not in hell but in Heaven. Why was this necessary? Because mankind is selfish and sinful and they had fallen away from what God's intentions were for man. God want's people to live in righteousness, flee from sin (which comes from satan) and love each other. There is a constant battle between the two higher powers; that which is goodness and righteousness from God and that which is evil from satan. God couldn't just forgive us because people first needed to see what God was all about, for people to know that you can have a personal relationship with Him, and then make the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Any even now Jesus only forgives us if we first forgive others. God's sacrifice was much more than just about the blood. This is not my philosophy, this comes from the Holy Bible. Like I mentioned above, I would be more than happy to talk to anyone about our Lord Jesus Christ. Please email me privately.
