New ACS Requirements and Radiology

Pret,
On page 148 of the new book it states that a deficiency in a level I,II
or III, would be if "radiologists are not promptly available, in person
or by teleradiology, when requested, for the interpretation of
radiographs, performance of complex imaging studies, or interventional
procedures". On page 64 in the radiology section it basically has the
same wording, that radiologists must be promptly available, in person or
by teleradiology.
Hope this helps.

Subject: New ACS Requirements and Radiology

The Optimum Resources books I ordered haven't come in yet, and I have a
rather urgent question that I hope someone out there has the authority
to answer for me:

Do remote diagnostic radiology services (let's call them, say,
"Nighthawk") pass the ACS straight face test for Level I/II
verification?

Assume that quality is monitored within the performance improvement
process, and that interventional radiology is available promptly.
