ccml Does Evil Exist / Hmmmm...hoax?

Bjorn, Pret pbjorn at emh.org

Always a stimulating read, Charles. Welcome to the Philosophy-List.

Not that I disagree very much; except that mankind's eagerness to
interpret (much less enforce) any higher power's intentions strikes me
more as pure arrogance -- and an original sin if ever there was one.

Nor am I certain, for that matter, that religion is any prerequisite for
the determination of what is good or evil. Quite the contrary: I think
it is the regrettable nature of organized religion to leverage ethics
and morality for its own purposes. See paragraph #1.

Here's wishing that 2007 finds humanity seeking redemption through
reason. And while we're at it, may we all be happier and healthier and
kinder to one another. Seems to me that we leave too much of the
blessing to our gods, and take too little responsibility for it
ourselves.

I'm always grateful for the friends and advice I find here on the
Trauma-List. Happy New Year to all.

To believe in Evil
You need to believe in GOD

I do not believe in Evil

I believe in selfisness
Sometime a lot of selfishness (Psycopath)
AND
Most of the times really selfish people have no idea that their are
selfish

The worst is the selfishness of God

I do not know for sure
But I do not think GOD to be seflfish
I do not think he thinks women are not the equal of mine
I do not think he really want's us to make lot's of babies and swamp out
all other species

I think
Perhaps
MAN act in "Gods" interest (really ???)

Now you have a situation where the possibility exists that the synergy
of Men's and Gods selfishness
Are conjugated to great effect

... a possible explanation (not even pretending, that their is such a
thing as AN explanation)

Best wishes for the coming future

Charles

Thanks - I missed the entire thread as well, and I chalked it up to
holiday gremlins!

Did I miss something on the Trauma-List, or was this message randomly
cc'd from ccm-l without any useful reference?

Regardless of the veracity of the presentation it is a wonderful
sentiment.

Thanks, Ken.
