Fantastic instrument....also very useful in ruptured AAA and the generally
Oozy trauma or other patient who you can't quite put a finger on what the
problem is (when there may be multiple factors).  Only problem is you need a
trained TEG tech (our anaesthetic technicians do them - but only some are
credentialled), and the short time frame between taking the sample and
processing it.
