Medicare changes (your Government at work)

On the 19th the NYTimes reported changes in Medicare coverage such that they
will no longer reimburse for ??"preventable" conditions that occur in the
hospital. These apparently include bed sores and catheter associated
infections after prolonged indwelling catheter use. 

Do the list members know any more of the details? Will they not, for
instance, cover nosocomial pneumonias? What kind of complications will be
covered? What do people think the result of these changes will be?

Geez I can see what you guys meant about not trusting the Gov. to set up
rules for trauma care nationally.
