Several years ago we published this short paper:
 
Bloom A, Zamir G, Muggia-Sullam M, Friedlander M, Gimmon Z, Rivkind A.

      Torture rhabdomyorhexis -- a pseudo-crush syndrome.

      J Trauma 1995;38:252-254.



You do not need heavy objects to cause this syndrome. Rather repeated beating with blunt objects, possibly combined with dehydration.
