In a message dated 8/22/2007 3:05:31 PM W. Europe Daylight Time, KMATTOX at aol.com writes: As I stated once. I would NOT operate on this patient immediately in the middle of the night or on the weekend, with the arteriogram posted. I would wait until I fully knew his pulmonary AND cerebral status. I do not believe that his cerebral status is due to the innominate artery injury and even if it is, I do not believe that there is ongoing embolization from the injury and I would WAIT until tomorrow and then have several operative plans in mind. I dont mind sharing my simple approach with the list, but so far I dont have enough infomation. WHat about the hip and what about the head. ?? k perhaps you missed the post the ct scan of the head did not show ANY evidence of anything significant. No brain edema, no bullet tract or air. there were no skull or facial fractures. only a missing tooth. Of course, ct is now particularly revealing within a couple of hours of the stroke. The pulmonary problems are the most perplexing part of this case. There was significant air space opacities throughout all lobes. Nothing to suggest that this is all caused by the gunshot wound of the chest and more likely representing aspiration of blood. If you want i can photo a pix of the ct of the lungs There is no expanding hematoma of the lower extremity. No evidence of prior and active hemorrhage from the leg. pulses are present. s ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
