Embolizaton of thyroid arteries

We removed a cricket ball sized thyroid swelling
involving Right lobe of thyroid and isthmus,the
histology was follicular carcinoma with capsular
invasion.The pre operative CT of neck did not reveal
any nodes in the neck.The patient was Euthyroid.I may
sound a bit stupid,but is there  any role of preop
embolization of thyroid vessels in such a patient as
we encountered brisk intraop haemorrhage from large
thyroid vessels present on thyroid surface in this patient?
