Charles, The resident didn't want to accept the patient 'cause if he did he would have had to stay past his 80 hours!!! OK, so I'll shut up now!! :-( >>> <Krin135 at aol.com> 8/17/2007 11:09 AM >>> In a message dated 16-Aug-07 22:34:00 Central Daylight Time, jean.levasseur at videotron.ca writes: May I ask a "naive" question... What was the patient doing in the "CT scan 2 hours after arrival " with a "systolic BP 0f 40-60" ?? J Levasseur MD Joliette, QC, Canada in my previous life in Louisiana, the answer would have been "trying to satisfy the surgical resident who didn't want to accept the transfer from my little hospital (with no surgeon) to his big level 1 trauma center"...and who was also insisting on 4 liters of IV fluids and a systolic BP over 100 before transport... Even quoting Ken Mattox and Errington Thompson at those residents didn't help in a lot of cases... ck Charles S. Krin, DO FAAFP. ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour -- trauma-list : TRAUMA.ORG To change your settings or unsubscribe visit: http://www.trauma.org/index.php?/community/
