Subject: Las Cruces EMS Service Loses Crew and Patients Sunday

Dear Friends of trauma:

Our city, Las Cruces NM, has suffered an airmedical tragedy. Our local
service' King Air crashed shortly after takeoff near Ruidoso NM late
Sunday night killing all five aboard including the patients, a young
mother and 15 month-old infant.

In a rural setting such as ours, airmedical transport is a reality and
necessity. As a flight nurse in E. Oregon I know how often these
tragedies occur, having lost friends and colleagues. Each time we lift
off we understand that this flight may be our last, but that is what we
do to help the living.

There is no indication that this flight was in any way imprudent, this
is just the reality of living in a rural setting. Please, send a
prayer or though for the families and employees of our EMS service.
