Greetings all, Apologies for the cross-post to trauma-l/ccm-l. Preparations for our expedition to Antarctica continue at a satisfactory pace. Thanks for all the interest. - if you want to receive my newsletter update, and have not yet received an email from [AntarcticDoctor], please email me off-list and I will add you. I've had encouragement from the military health team involved in training to take a blood analogue, Hemopure. I have just had a meeting with the local doctor who is the company rep and does training, and am excited about the possibilities (obviously, with a small team and the very real risk of trauma, the challenge of transfusion has come to my attention). I am, however, aware of the previous reservations and reports of complications with blood replacement fluids, especially the reports of increased MI incidence and risks associated with the PFC's I'm interested to hear your comments and experiences with this and similar products, either on the list of privately. Thanks in advance, Ross.
