Our cut off is the patient's 16th birthday. Kids under that age go to the pediatric hospital across the drive if they don't meet criteria for activation. If the do, however, they come to the Hartford Hospital ED where they are seen by the trauma team, including the pediatric trauma surgeon and pedi nursing staff. We have a dedicated pedi trauma resuscitation room. >>> "Hardcastle, Tim, Dr <tch at sun.ac.za>" <tch at sun.ac.za> 4/19/2007 1:11 AM >>> Bryan Team / response is same - admitting service differs: If under age 13 they go to PaedSurg for definitive management. Trauma Service does resus and work-up.
