horrible day in Montreal...

-first "mass casualty disaster" since ecole polytechnique in the late 80's... -12 GSW's (8 with torso/head injuries) in <30 minutes -all in all incredible job by EMS/ED/Trauma service (first hand witness, was ED physician on during the chaos) -considering the fact that we haven't ran a mock "code orange" (external disaster scenario), and haven't had one in >15 years, truly amazing work... -Although no words can describe or alleviate the loss/anger/frustration that the affected families are feeling right now, it could've been A LOT worse people...there are approx. 3-4000 students present during the day and a large day care/nursery!! if not for the Grace of God things could have been much more horrendous...
