Under the old AHA guidelines the EMS protocol was to begin CPR and AED use on scene and transport after six shocks or three no shocks. With the new guidelines for AED's, a single shock or no shock every two minutes, the old protocol makes no sense. The consensus among educators and some state medical directors is that the new EMS protocol would be to transport after three shocks or three no shocks. There seems to be no organization which will offer definitive direction on this subject. Any help would be appreciated. -- V/R Forrest Robleto (EMS Instructor) R House Health & Safety www.RHouseTraining.com FRobleto at RhouseTraining.com 609-792-9047
