Dr. Ahmed- Although the two are run by two separate groups, there is much overlap in terms of membership/privileges for these two level 1 trauma centers; Oregon Health Sciences University and Legacy Emanuel Hospital, both located in Portland, OR and both trauma systems run by outstanding physicians. www.ohsu.edu/trauma/ and http://www.legacyhealth.org/body.cfm?id=54 may help you in your pursuit. So technically, if you kill a guy who's scheduled to speak, you're doing him a favor." -Scott Adams -----Original Message----- From: Ahmed, Naveed [mailto:NAhmed at cchseast.org] Sent: Sunday, November 12, 2006 8:31 AM To: trauma-list at trauma.org Subject: RE: trauma-list Digest, Vol 41, Issue 12 Need advice, Does any one know if there are two verified trauma centers that are geographically very close(about a mile apart)and are run by the same trauma system(i.e. share trauma director, surgeons etc)and is it possible to increase efficiency by concentrating some high-end tertiary services in one center or the other (example- Pelvic fx, advanced neuro trauma and spine in one and repair of thoracic aorta in other),both have deticated trauma ICU and patient transferred from one center to another still is under care of the same trauma surgeon, both have ER coverage from different trauma team(different trauma surgeon and specilists) Naveed Ahmed MD FACS East Cleveland
