Marty, BTLS is the principal course of International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), which is sponsored by the Illinois Chapter of ACEP. PHTLS is the principal course of the National Association of EMTs and is also sponsored by the ACS. They both teach the same thing. BTLS and PHTLS are very similar siblings. I'm a BTLS instructor. Where I live right now there is no PHTLS, but there is a reciprocity agreement for instructors of both courses. I welcome you to take both, only if you have access to it. Gustavo E. I am just curious as to what exactly PHTLS is as compared to BTLS. BTLS is for pre-hospital providers and and deals with exactly with what was mentioned in the previous posting with regards to PHTLS such as MOI, treament and patho. Maybe in Canada, we just don't refer to it as PHTLS. If there is a large difference though, I would like to look into taking the course. Can anyone share some insight? Jim< I am due to take the PHTLS course next month. I am currently awaiting the course material. I am just wondering what i should expect from the course what workstations were offered and wether there are any specific things i need to be preped for, i understand each centre is different but i am just trying to get the broad overview of peoples experience. regards Giles -- trauma-list : TRAUMA.ORG To change your settings or unsubscribe visit: http://www.trauma.org/traumalist.html --------------------------------- Be smarter than spam.
