Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines seeks a Medical Director for Iowa's busiest Emergency Department. A member of the Catholic Health
Initiatives family, Mercy Medical Center- Des Moines is a 917 bed comprehensive health care
facility located on three campuses in Iowa's capital city.   An ACS Level II
Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and Iowa's only Accredited Chest Pain Center,  the Emergency Department features 21 Main ED , 13
Pediatric ED Beds and 7 Chest Pain Center Beds and sees  well over fifty five  thousand visits annually. Additionally we provide
clinical leadership and coverage at the 14 ED bed Mercy Capitol facility which will see over sixteen thousand patients.

The preferred candidate will be a Board Certified EM/ Trauma/ Critical Care residency trained Physicians with at least two years
experience in a leadership capacity. The ideal candidate will have a significant background in patient satisfaction , staff
empowerment and performance improvement initiatives. The Medical Director will provide administrative leadership and clinical
coverage to Mercy on a full time basis supervising over twenty five FTE Physicians and 6 FTE  mid level practitioners..  The Medical
Director will receive a competitive compensation and benefits package.
