It still requires this, as it always has, for the police models (M26 &
X26).

Note that the M26 (the older model) carries significantly bigger "punch"
than the newer (and no longer 100% effective) X26.

The civilian models (all end in "18") do not require the user to
experience it (although they really should - even the much reduced power
level is amazingly painful, and should be carried or used with very hefty
respect).
