OK - now you've done it. How about the use (or should I say misuse) of
the word "myself"........

My admiration for the people who post here is immense
and I have learned a lot. But there's one grammar
error I see over and over and it gives me the feeling
I get when talking with somebody I admire who's
unaware they've got a bit of food stuck between their
two front teeth. I hate to see brilliant people make
a clumsy error with their own language, so forgive me
for pointing out the difference between "it's" and
"its":

"it's" = contracted form of "it is"
"its" = possessive form of "it" -- "it" owns
something

For example, "It's a good thing that dog had its
identity tags on."

"Its" is the only English word I know that does NOT
have an apostrophe between the root word and the "s"
as a way of indicating possession.

I hope I haven't given offense or sounded pedantic
but, dang, I feel better now.

JIM
