Gustavo

This may be referring to the mortality prediction equation from the UCT group in Cape Town for Damage Control, presented at the SRS, SARS and ASSR meetings recently by Nick Kairinos. I'll copy him on this mail and if it is, he can contact you and provide details.

" A recent single-institution study described a mortality predictive
equation [f(x) = 3.48 - .22 (GCS) - .08 (BE) + .08 (Tx) + .05 (ISS) + .04
(Age)], where GSC is Glasgow Coma Score, BE is base excess, Tx is
transfusion requirement, and ISS is Injury Severity Score[...]"

I am trying to find the study which they are refering to in this abstract.
Could somebody please send me (preferably offline) either this article or
the one referenced here?

Thanks in advance.
