Katherine,

Welcome to the List. If first appearances amount to anything, you'll be
perfectly safe here.

Hints:

1: The cliché is true: the only stupid question is that which goes unasked.

2: Tedium's another matter entirely; but I'm tedious enough that nobody will
notice you.

3: Candor IS respect. If the List doesn't occasionally inspire you to
defend or question yourself, you're not getting the full experience.

4: When folks get downright rude, give it a sec: someone's always got your
back.

Beyond that, it's all pretty straightforward. Keep your subject lines
relevant, avoid the All Caps key, try to keep the conversation somehow
related to physical trauma, and don't ask questions if you don't want
answers. Simple.

Dig in, and make the most of it.

Hello,

I am a UK clinical med student hugely interested in emergency medicine. I'm
learning a great deal from observing the discussions, but don't contribute
much due to lack of knowledge. I'm unsure as yet how welcome med students
are to post possibly dumb/tedious questions on the list!

Incidentally I'm currently planning a trauma/emergency medical elective for
2007 - any suggestions or advice would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks and best wishes to the List.

Katherine Lee
