Sal, No devils advocate here - you are right on. That is why until we start recording appropriately and documenting appropriately, the exam is not going to billed out as an "official" study. Now, if you are saying that the only "acceptable" reporting is that done by the radiologist, and that my ability to appropriately document is less than yours (as a radiologist), then you are being more than the devils advocate - you are being a trouble maker ;-) Take care, Ron >>> SJASMD at aol.com 02/22 10:16 AM >>> In a message dated 2/22/2006 6:39:35 A.M. Eastern Standard Time, Rgross at harthosp.org writes: Sal, Images are archived (1) only if you are credentialed, and (2) only in the patient's chart. The formal report consists of "FAST positive-negtative-indeterminate on the trauma activation flow sheet. I am going to assume that if we dictated a formal radiologist-type report, we might get paid, but I have a hard enough time getting some of these folks to print the damn images out with a patient name or MR# on them! Ron Ron if i might play devil's advocate: Unless radiology also writes notes in the chart and gives reports such as positive, negative and indeterminate, then you are using more than one standard for imaging. One could consider that a breach of JCAHO standards. sal -- trauma-list : TRAUMA.ORG To change your settings or unsubscribe visit: http://www.trauma.org/traumalist.html
