Dear Devil (aka Gustavo), When we start routinely caring for IED victims in the civilian world, then we could consider employing tactical military medical practices. Until then, my guess is that even the Devil's Advocate will continue to separate out well known and accepted "Knife and Gun Club" practices from the tactical procedures we have come to accept as standard of care on the battlefield. (The good news is that at least we don't have to worry about VOMIT in the latter!) Take care, Ron >>> "Gustavo E. Flores" <gflores911 at gmail.com> 12/11/2006 10:10 PM >>> Just playing the Devil's Advocate. Would it be prudent to consider adapting military experiences and/or concepts to civilian life in places where the "Knife and Gun Club" is exceedingly more than national averages? If so, what would they be? Granted, civilian EMS is different from military prehospital care in many aspects regardless of how severely injured the victim is. The available immediate resources and the logistics vary greatly. Gustavo E.
