The HDM course was developed to meet this disaster medical response limitation by providing non-critical care health professionals with the core critical care knowledge and skills needed to manage seriously ill and injured disaster victims in collaboration with critical care health professionals. The HDM course includes a sequence of lectures interspersed with skill stations. Each participant will complete a pre-course assessment, a post test and skill station practicum. Successful completion of the course requires a score of 70% or higher on the post test and passing the skill station exercises.
