Dr. Mattox: Well said; trauma centers are First Receivers in all types of disasters of mass scale, regardless of politics. Let us not have another Charity Hospital, in the dark (ages) anywhere again. Connie Potter, Executive Director National Foundation for Trauma Care (505) 525-9511 -----Original Message----- From: KMATTOX at aol.com [mailto:KMATTOX at aol.com] Sent: Thursday, August 10, 2006 9:44 PM To: trauma-list at trauma.org Subject: Aid to our surgical and trauma colleagues. WHITE FLAG Hospitals are victims of war. They too loose power, but have emergency generators. Trauma centers in both countries need to stay open. I have received information indirectly from international red crescent and other sources that the major trauma center in Lebanon only has less than a weeks supply of diesel left. FROM A HUMANITARIAN standpoint, please join with me to assure that our professional and non-political medical colleagues in both Lebanon and Israel have the fuel and the supplies and reagents that they need. Kenneth L. Mattox, M.D.
