30 year old Mexican Male (undocumented alien ― may be important for follow up purposes) sustains GSW to RLQ which gets a bunch of small bowel (I never ceased to be amazed at how many enterotomies a single bullet can make) but more importantly the external iliac artery and vein just distal to the bifurcation. I ligated the vein but had to take out about 3cm of artery due to intimal injury. I replaced it with a gortex graft. He did great (out of hospital in 7 days) but I have a question. How should I follow this graft? Do I need to do serial U/S or other imaging to r/o pseudoaneurysm b/c I placed the graft in a contaminated field? His pulses are fine. He's coming to the office this afternoon. I'll update if there is any clinical change. Bill William J. Bromberg Savannah Surgical Group 912 350-7412
