Cease fire NOT amputation etc

Dear Karim
I think the trouble with opening it up as a free for all is that you will
attract all types of extremists who will tend to dominate the discussion and
will distract from the purpose of the list.
I am as interested in discussion and peaceful solutions to conflict as the
next person but it takes up a lot of time and I seem to remember we didn't
get anywhere with the gun debate except to agree to disagree.
I think a separate forum would be appropriate but how much time do you have
to run 2 lists?
