We're clearing unconscious C-spines on CT  only.  Why not awakes?

BTW I totally agree with Rick.  The  Cspine clearance algorithm of the future 
will be:

Meets criteria for  clinical clearance?
YES : Clear clinically
Able to  clear?
YES: CLEAR
NO:  CT
NO:   CT

+ Abnormal neurological exam:  MRI




For us for the past 3 years, this has been the algorithm--and for many  other 
centers--the future is now
