couple of comments on recently brought up issues:

1)CSpine xrays:

probably will be obsolete in the adult setting but for the time being:

YOU cannot clear the C Spine with a lateral....therefore no removal of collar
till the 3 views are done and read...

2) Lidocaine and TBI:

could drop BP in someone with borderline BP to begin with...never use it...

3)head CT and the elderly:

any injury above the clavicle in the right age group ( see Canadian/New Orleans
head CT rules) warrants imaging....with the right mechanism (associated pelvic
#) I think one would not be faulted for getting one...
