Here is the suggestion--if a prisoner has been a victim of trauma, transport to nearest trauma center in a timely fashion ERF -----Original Message----- From: Michael John McGivern <mcgivernmike at xtra.co.nz> To: trauma-list at trauma.org Sent: Mon, 3 Oct 2005 12:19:55 +1000 Subject: Trauma managment in prisons Dear colleagues, My name is Michael McGivern, and I am a registered nurse working in the department of corrections in New Zealand. I have been given the remit for developing trauma and resuscitation in our facility. I would love to hear from anyone who has experience of working in a prison setting in a medical capacity, and who has been involved in trauma-resus training. I am particularly interested in developing the skills of our nurses in relation to cervical injury management and caring for inmates who have been stabbed. I am trying to put together a good effective set of first response equipment, and would be very grateful for any suggestions. I would be very grateful for any help. Kindest regards Michael <http://promos.hotbar.com/promos/promodll.dll?RunPromo&El=&SG=&RAND=74974&pa rtner=hbtools> Upgrade Your Email - Click here! No virus found in this outgoing message.
