Subject: Trauma managment in prisons

Dear colleagues,

My name is Michael McGivern, and I am a registered nurse working in the
department of corrections in New Zealand. I have been given the remit for
developing trauma and resuscitation in our facility. I would love to hear
from anyone who has experience of working in a prison setting in a medical
capacity, and who has been involved in trauma-resus training. I am
particularly interested in developing the skills of our nurses in relation
to cervical injury management and caring for inmates who have been stabbed.

I am trying to put together a good effective set of first response
equipment, and would be very grateful for any suggestions.

I would be very grateful for any help.

Kindest regards

Michael
