I am unaware of any data indicating a survival benefit or a decreased complication rate from trauma because of prehospital needle crics, or needle chest decompression or even tube decompression in the field. It is not for me to prove a negative. It is the responsibility for those who propose a useless and unproven (but popular intervention) to provide data for its use, if they plan to use that modality. k
